We Came As Romans, The Almost, and The Bay State

We Came As Romans - To Plant A Reed - The new album from We Came As Romans is absolutely amazing. I have been waiting for this one to come out for months. Songs one through ten rock hard and it doesn't stop. The only negative thing about this album is the clean vocals with the auto-tone is really annoying at times but overall get this thing.

The Almost - Monster Monster - Now for a straight up rock band this album is pretty good. This isn't a cd that I would listen to on an everyday basis but it has a unique sound and I would pick it up from time to time. If I listened to more rock style then this would be a everyday cd but I just dont think it is hard enough. Aaron Gillespie is an amazing vocalist as he takes the front. If you didn't know he is the drummer and clean vocalist for the band Underoath.

The Bay State - Let's Turn This City On - The Bay State is a great band from Bangor Maine. Their songs are very catchy and I constantly sing them in my head during the day. I think it is awesome to find great local music in areas that you would think wouldn't have a good local scene but Maine has pretty good local talent that keep you coming back. Pick this up on Itunes.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Spoken, and Wolves Among Sleep

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus - Don't You Fake It - I have to say that when I first heard this album I didn't really like it but after picking the album up again within the last year my mind was completely changed. These guys might not rock as hard as I'm used to but they have the music that will get you to sing along all day. If you ever hate getting songs stuck in your head then pick this album up because this is an album you won't hate to have stuck in your head.

Spoken - A Moment of Imperfect Clarity - Now this is one of the first harder bands that I ever got into and I'm glad I did. Most of the songs on this album stay around in my head and the guys in the band are also amazing people. This album has great parts to sing along to while having parts that get to blood flowing. My favorite song on the album is Promise but it's really hard to say that because this album has a lot of good song on it.

Wolves Among Sleep - Lions, Tigers, Bears - For a band out of Bangor Maine these guys are pretty good. I will have to say you can tell that the production quality on the material isn't the best but they do the best with what they have. I like this album a lot and if you have some time give them a listen.

Our Last NIght, Memphis May Fire, and Run Kid Run

Our Last Night - The Ghosts Among Us - When I first picked up this CD I thought that is was another screamo band trying to make big. I had not idea that months after getting this album it would be my favorite. It picks up at the beginning and never stops all the way through and you should definitely add this to your collection.

Memphis May Fire - Sleepwalking - Since I am from Texas I continually talk with y cousin and he refers me to a lot of local music down in the area. He told me about this band when they had their six song EP out and at that time I was a little skeptical but when this album came out I was all on board with what these guys deliver through their sound. You will want to pick this one up.

Run Kid Run - We've Only Just Begun - When I first got this CD I was just getting into some rock music and really found that these guys were catchy and the songs were really good. If you like something with a little pace on it but wont make you turn of the CD player then you will need to pick this up.

A Day To Remember, Emery, and FM Static

A Day To Remember - Homesick - I first got into ADTR with the Album that came before this one and I will have to say that is album only met about half of my expectations. I think some of the songs are really good but I constantly get thrown off by the screams of the lead vocalists. In my opinion there is just something different about how he screams that just sounds weird. If you want to spend money on an ok good not great album then buy this.

Emery - In Shallow Seas We Sail - The last album from this band wasen't at all what I thought it would be but I can assure you that this album brings Emery back into their old ways, which is an awesome thing. Thier debut CD was absolutely brilliant and this one is the same. It rocks from the first track until the last one. I think anyone should grab this CD.

FM Static - Critically Ashamed - This album was shockingly pretty good considering I don't really listen to the style of music normally. They take concepts from everyday life and make some pretty cool lyrics and music with those topics. I have to admit that the creativity of the two gentlemen is pretty amazing and I think that if you want something different in your collection then pick this one up.

Underoath, Attack Attack, and Hawk Nelson

Underoath - They're Only Chasing Safety - In Underoath's second album they killed it. This album has ten tracks that totally knock it out of the park. Even though this album came out in 2004 there are a lot of Underoth fans that still go back to this album for their favorite Underoath needs. Underoath changed how they did things from their first album adding less screaming, more instrumentals, and some keys. Overall you just need to buy it.

Attack Attack! - Someday Came Suddenly - This is a really amazing album the only thing I can really say bad about this album is that it has three instrumental songs. Not that its a really bad thing but the reason I buy albums is to hear to vocals as well not just songs with just instruments.

Hawk Nelson - Smile, It's The End Of The World - If you don't like the pace of the first tow albums on this list then this one is a hit. Another Canadian rock band that is sure to make you happy with the lyrics and the meaning behind them. This is their second studio album following their first album Letters to the President. Be sure to expect great things from this band in the near future.

The Devil Wears Prada, The Wedding, and Kiros

The Devil Wears Prada - With Roots Above And Branches Below - All eleven songs on this album will be sure to come at you hard. There is one song towards the end that has a more medelic feel but that seems to be the staple of this TDWP. If you like hardcore or metal or screamo then this album is worth your attention. I like everysong on it and I would reccomend this album to anyone who crossed my path.

The Wedding - Polarity - The Wedding for a while has been a favorite of mine. This is the album that got me hooked but there are fourteen songs on this album and the last one drags on with dead space but seems to be worth it to get to the special song at the end of that track. Like TDWP album I would recommend this to any of my friend. If you don't like hardcore but like a lot of rock then you will love The Wedding.

Kiros - A Single Strand - Kiros for a long time has been a good Canadian rock band who never really put out good quality music for people to listen too. Well, there is no need wait anymore because this CD is amazing. There are twelve song on this album and all of the have their own flare. If you like to support somewhat local music then you won't go wrong with this album.
